LGBTQ+ Health & Support, Community Engagement & Empowerment, Research & Advocacy are the three cores of our services
SEMA is a South African non-profit human rights organization that provides expert assistance to ensuring that lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, and intersex (LGBTQI+) people, their partners, and families fully realize their constitutional and human rights. We also operate in East Africa (Tanzania & Uganda) where we provide the LGBTQI+ populations with a variety of services. These include clinical care for sexual health, counseling, support groups, a helpline, services for the general public’s education and training, community outreach, and judicial support for victims of hate crimes.
“ This world would be a whole lot better if we just made an effort to be less horrible to one another”
Being a person labelled as LGBTQ community is an issue in itself, they also have the fundamental rights to live like normal people happily but in day to day living they face challenges that need to addressed at the global level. We provide online LGBTQ counsellors that specialise in dealing with such issues. From the comforts of your home, or anywhere in the world, you can talk to our expert therapists and take counselling sessions. Some of those issues are:
Psychological Issues
Emotionally disturb, loneliness, lack of self-esteem, constant worry about the future, trauma due to societal injustice, lack of sexual expressiveness, more prone to psychosomatic disorders. Lack of self-acceptance, lack of sense of worth, the feeling of inferiority.
Sociatal & Moral Issues
They feel a lack of equality, justice and respect within the society, in few countries their relationship come under criminal acts, issues of fundamental rights, disclosing their reality to others, sexual and physical assault by the members of society. People see them like aliens, Social rejection, bullying.
Occupational Issues
No one easily gets the job if they disclose their identity, lack of political activism and involvement, physical violence and stigmatisation at the workplace. As a result, with years of coping and facing oppression, coming out to parents or living in the society because of social expectations

Their voices deserve to be heard. We care for LGBTI+ asylum seekers, refugees, and immigrants.
We are aware that true equality cannot exist unless all LGBT individuals experience acceptance, hearing, and representation. We are united in our desire to create a better world for each and every member of our incredibly diverse family because there can be no equality for some without equality for all. We are committed to protecting and advancing the rights of all LGBT people. We will always continue to support and champion the full diversity of LGBT communities, despite those who wish to divide us.
We aim to empower immigrant and refugee communities through action, community involvement, integration, and education in order to provide a voice to the voiceless. We strive to foster worldwide solidarity on matters relating to migration, legal status, and refugee rights because we think that the struggle of immigrants and refugees is a global one.
A society devoid of injustice, prejudice, and discrimination, where people are whole, free, and confident in all aspects of their diversity. We are a community-based, non-profit organisation devoted to helping LGBTI+ asylum seekers, refugees, and immigrants.
'SEMA's INCLUSION IN THE SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT GOALS
We believe that the ‘leave no one behind’ principle is relevant for LGBT people, who have been repeatedly left behind by national and international development initiatives. LGBT persons have been held back by discriminatory laws, programs that ignore their unique requirements, and unfavorable social views. LGBT groups around the world are affected by this in a variety of ways, including lower income, worse health, and lower levels of education. As a result, until this issue is resolved, discrimination as a whole won’t be completely eliminated. At SEMA, we strive to achieve SDGs i.e. Goal 3 (Ensure Healthy Lives And Promote Well-Being For All At All Ages), Goal 5 (Achieve Gender Equality And Empower All Women And Girls), Goal 10 (Reduce Inequality Within And Among Countries), Goal 11 (Make Cities And Human Settlements Inclusive, Safe, Resilient And Sustainable).
